Germination this year
I added shelves to my kitchen window to give me more space for the jars that we are using to water germinate our vegetable seeds in. We are going to let them grow in the jars until time to plant outside. The seeds and sprouts will be rinsed once in the morning and once at night. This will keep them moist and clean. Any gasses in the jars that do not come out throw the cloth will come out when I open them to give them a good rinse.

I will add pictures tomorrow of the okra seeds after 24 hours of water germination. Believe it or not but water germination for 24 hours makes them sprout and I know for a fact they grow faster this way then planting them. The ones in the tray below have been in those peat pots for 8 days and are just now starting to sprout.

YAY 2013
Well last year the garden done good for a bit but then it got really hot real fast and kind of cooked everything before it was even producing real well, so we got a bunch but not enough. This year we are praying for a better year with our garden. i am looking forward to having fresh fruits and vegetables and freezing and having them in the winter time.
Things we will have:
Tomatoes
Squash
Broccoli
Cauliflower
Banana Peppers
Bell Peppers
Corn
Pole Green Beans
Cucumbers
Sunflower Seeds
Okra
Radishes
Carrots
Head Lettuce (which never makes heads but it great leaf lettuce)
We will have hot Peppers for my husband
I have started to germinate some of my broccoli and cauliflower seeds in water so we can get them out soon. I have planted a few other seeds not many but some like Okra, Tomato, sunflowers. I also brought more Strawberry roots and planted them, they are in a pot and in the window sill so they can get an early start. My chickens love the extra lettuce and sunflower seeds so that will be a nice treat for them.

Ending
Well 2012 is at its end and 2013 is just around the corner. I had a garden but during the summer it got a lot hotter then normal and for as much as I tried to save it I did not have any luck. As of right now I would love to have a garden next year. I think next year is going to be a lot better because we are getting a winter. It was only 38 degrees out today all day long. I am not sure how that is going to go since my husband is not with us right now, and due to my problems with my back I am not able to work the garden up. I am barely able to plant the garden when it comes time to plant. I guess we will see what the New Year brings us.

Growing Sprouts!
All the sprouts are growing nice. All the plants are big and healthy.
Can't wait until I get the garden ready so I can plant in a little while.
